Folk Birds

Hi and welcome back to my blog! What a glorious Bank Holiday Monday we are having here in the UK, the sun is shining and a couple birds nest we have in our garden are full of activity as the eggs have now hatched and we have lots of joyful tweeting which inspired me to make a card featuring the Folk Art Birds set by Pink Fresh Studio I was excited to try out some hot foiling techniques which is very popular at the moment.

To begin, I cut an A2 panel using a piece of Red Velvet card stock by Gina K and using my Gemini Foil Press hot foiled the panel with the Folk Art Birds Hot Foil Plate using Gold Foil by Crafters Companion.  I then die cut this with a stitched rectangle die and using some Black Onyx card stock foiled the birds with some rose gold foil press and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I adhered the panel to an A2 card base using tape runner, popped up the birds with foam squares to add some dimension to the card and foiled the sentiment from the Perfect Sentiments by Pink Fresh Studio, to finish I added a few clear dew drops.  Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a great day!

Sending Love

Welcome back to my blog, hoping you have had a great week so far, not too long for the weekend now! Here is a card which I started last night and finished this afternoon, it is another card using products from Gina K Designs, I just love her products and there is an array of cardstock and matching inks to choose from.

Today's card is inspired by this week's colour challenge over at #gkdfbchallenge5 using the colour scheme from the photo below:

To begin, using my die cutting machine I die cut card stock in various colours using a strip die which made the process so much easier than just trying to cut card stock to equal lengths using a paper cutter.  These strips were then adhered to a piece of white card stock which I had die cut to size using liquid glue.

I then die cut a couple of heart dies from the Master Layouts 4 Die Set by Gina K Designs and using the water droplets stencil using some blending brushes inked up the panel with Sweetcorn and Coral Reef Ink.  The sentiments was stamped in black ink and are from the "A Little Love" Stencil Bundle. I sprayed some glitter spray onto the heart to add a little bit of shimmer - who doesn't like a little bit of glitter in their lives!

Finally I adhered the panel to an A2 card base using tape runner and added a few dew drops here and there to finish off.  Hoping you like this card.

Supplies used:
  • Gina K Designs Card stock - Coral Reef, Sweet Mango, Honey Mustard, Whisper, Sea Glass, Tranquil Teal, In the Navy, Black Onyx
  • Gina K Designs Ink - Sweet Corn, Coral Reef
  • Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2 & 4 Die Sets

Pretty in Pink Fuchsias

Hello crafty friends!  Hoping you are having a relaxing weekend, today I am featuring a stamp set by Avery Elle - Hummingbird inspired by my mum's love of fuchsia's and also celebrating her birthday in May where she would be 77 years old.  I lost my mum unexpectedly in 2009 and I miss her dearly. Her love was gardening and she collected all varieties of the Fuchsia plant, I just had to have this stamp set and create a card in her memory.

To begin I stamped the images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink onto Copic friendly card stock and coloured with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies.  Using a white gelly pen I added some detail to the images and added some glitter to the hummingbird and parts of the flower with a Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter pen.

For the background I cut a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock and using a hexagon layering stencil ink blended some Gina K - Innocent Pink ink with a blending brush, also adding some ink splatters to this panel.

To finish I die cut the background panel with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die by Whimsy Stamps and adhered this panel to an A2 Card base and finishing off by adding a few sequins from my stash.

Whilst my background panel was drying using some Gina K card stock in Jelly Bean Green, I die cut a backdrop panel using the Four Square Portrait Backdrop by Lawn Fawn and then stamped the sentiment from MFT Spring Gnome Stamp set in Black Ink onto the front of this panel.  This was then adhered to the background panel using Gina K Connect Glue and then adhered to an A2 Card Base in Coral Reef by Gina K.

Batty About You!

Happy Thursday all!  Today I am back featuring a card I have created using the Batty Newton stamp by Newton's Nook.  I just love this cute little fella and I am sure he is totally batty about you!

I am entering this card into the Modsquad|Challenge where the challenge is to use a book page or anything with the written word as your background so I chose to design a Halloween card using a wordy background stamp.

I stamped the image using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and started colouring my image using Copics (see combos used below).  I then cut then out the image with the coordinating die. I also added some details to the adorable little fella bat wings with a white gelly roll pen.

For the background panel I used a background stamp from MFT and using Gina K - Wild Wisteria Ink stamped the wordy image onto a piece of Gina K - Lovely Lavender cardstock, I then die cut this panel with a stitched rectangle die.  To create the circle layer, using a panel I had previously ink blended in my stash I die cut this out using a stitched circle die.  The clouds were created with a stencil using Dusty Concord Distress Ink on a piece of purple card stock and then I added some ink splatters.

To finish I adhered the background panel to an A2 card base using Gina K cardstock in Black Onyx and to add some finishing touches to the card I stamped some bats in black ink and die cut these, added some glitter and using Gina K connect glue adhered these in place.  The Sentiment was embossed with Gina K Fine Detail White Embossing Powder on Black Onyx cardstock and cut out with a banner die.

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment will make my day!  Hugz Becky :)

Pleasing Pantone

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday, hoping you all had a great weekend.  Here in the UK we have been forecast high winds and rain for most of the week which is very typical of the weather in May "N'er cast a clout till May is out" which is an old English proverb, basically reminding us of our British weather and it's ability to bathe us in sunshine and warmth one day and bring chilly winds the next.

Over the weekend I did some crafting and created this card mainly using just supplies from Gina K Designs which I have also entered into the weekly facebook challenge which can be found here: #gkdfbchallenge2.

To begin, I cut a panel of card stock using the Master Layouts 4 Die Set and using GKD Tiny Textures Stamp Set I stamped the image with Wild Dandelion and Soft Stone ink alternating between the two. Using black ink I then stamped an image from the Autumn Silhouettes Stamp set onto the panel and added some splatters using Sweetcorn ink with some liquid stardust.

I popped this aside to dry a little then using some slate and some yellow glitter card stock cut both the shadow and forever word die from the Forever Flowers Card Kit and adhered them together with Connect glue. The sentiment was stamped with black ink from the Forever Flowers stamp set. To finish I adhered the panel to an A2 card base in Black Onyx and adhered the die cut to this panel. I also added a few black sequins from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by,  take care till next time.

Rain or Shine

Hello there! Today I am excited to share a card which I have created using a stamp set by MFT.  I choose this stamp set as even though May has just begun here in the UK we have been forecast showers over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend so I felt featuring this stamp set was appropriate! The stamp set used is an older stamp set by MFT called Rain or Shine.  I stamped the images using Jet Black Ink and coloured with Copic markers.  I then trimmed them out with matching dies.

For my background I ink blended some Chipped SapphireStormy Sky and Tumbled Glass onto Bristol Smooth card stock and then die cut the panel using the Falling Rain Cutting Plate by Taylored Expressions.  I adhered the panel to an A2 card base using In the Navy Card stock by Gina K using tape runner and popped up the focal image with foam squares.  I finished the card off by adding a scattering of sequins.

I am also entering this card into the MFT Colour Challenge #164 using the following colour palette as inspiration for the card and the Simon Says: Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, hoping you have a great weekend and stay safe.
