You make my life magical, Dad!

Welcome back to my blog!  Today I am featuring a card I made using the Magical Dragons stamp set by MFT and Tiny Textures by Gina K Designs.  I was inspired to make this card as it was Fathers Day yesterday and my young teenager who has ASD asked me to make a card for his Dad. His Dad loves mythical dragons and as his favourite colour is red I decided to colour them red with my Copic Markers.

I began by stamping out the images from the stamp set using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink onto Copic friendly card stock and coloured them with copic markers and die cut with their co-ordinating dies.

For the background I used the tiny textures stamp and using Red Velvet Ink stamped recreating a splattered type background, to break up the red I used Soft Stone Ink smooshed onto my craft mat and added some splatters with a paintbrush. I popped this aside to dry. Whilst this was drying I die cut the word "DAD" using some alphabet dies from patterned paper and to add dimension die cut extra out onto some white card stock these were adhered together using connect glue.

To finish off the card using an A2 card base in Cherry Red I adhered the background panel, stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturn Black ink, and added some sequins.  Hope you like the card, please feel free to comment, comments are always appreciated.  Hoping you have a great day!

Forever Love

Welcome back to my blog!  Today I am featuring a card that I have created using a technique that was shown on a You Tube Video by Cathy Zielske of CZ Designs.  I have quite a few stencils by Gina K Designs and using this week's challenge colours created this card.  I also wanted to have a go at this technique and I feel it turned out pretty well.

For the background I started with a piece of white card stock and placed a piece of masking tape measuring approximately 1 inch vertically across the centre of the card.  Using a stencil from Gina K Designs I blended on various coloured inks from Gina K using the colours from the challenge as a guide.

I die cut this panel using some dies and also die cut a panel in black onyx card stock adhered these together with glue and mounted them onto Coral Reef A2 Card base. To finish I added some dew drops to add some detail to the card.

I will be entering this card into the gkdfbchallenge8 over at Gina K Designs and StampTV Friends Facebook Group.  Thanks for taking a look, hope you have a great weekend.

Gnome one like you

Hi and welcome back to my blog!  I am back today with a card that I have created using stamps and the co-ordinating dies from Hello Bluebird!  I have had these stamp sets for quite a while now and I fancied practising my Copic colouring on this 6 x 6 background stamp, I was slightly intimidated by the size but I was inspired to take the plunge after watching one of Christy's videos, she is an awesome lady and I have learnt so much from her on how to colour with Copic markers.  I am still very much a beginner but as they say practice makes perfect and this Mushroom House by Hello Bluebird definitely helps you to achieve this.

For the background, I stamped the Mushroom House image onto Copic friendly card stock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. I also combined images from several other Hello Bluebird stamp and coloured with Copic markers and trimmed with their co-ordinating dies.

The background was trimmed out using the Modern Embossed Rectangle Stack by Trinity Stamps and adhered to Gina K - Onyx Black A2 Card Base.  I then added my images using some foam squares and Gina K - Connect Glue.

I finished the card off with a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiments banner and added a bit of glitter to some of the images with a glitter pen.  Thank you for stopping by today and hope you like the card!

Hi and welcome back! It is finally the weekend yay! Today I am featuring a card I have created using an older stamp set by Gina K and which I will also be entering into the Gina K Designs & StampTV's Friends facebook colour challenge #gkdfbchallenge6.

To begin, I stamped out the images from the stamp set using my Misti using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink, the images were coloured with Copic Markers on Copic friendly cardstock, and then die cut with the co-ordinating dies.

For the background, using a circle die I cut some coloured pieces of card stock and adhered these onto a white card stock panel which was then matted onto a piece of black card stock.

Using an A2 Card Base I adhered the background panel using a tape runner and to finish off the cute owls were popped up with foam squares to add some dimension to the card and added some sequins to fill in the white space.  Hope you like my card, have a great day and stay safe.

Folk Birds

Hi and welcome back to my blog! What a glorious Bank Holiday Monday we are having here in the UK, the sun is shining and a couple birds nest we have in our garden are full of activity as the eggs have now hatched and we have lots of joyful tweeting which inspired me to make a card featuring the Folk Art Birds set by Pink Fresh Studio I was excited to try out some hot foiling techniques which is very popular at the moment.

To begin, I cut an A2 panel using a piece of Red Velvet card stock by Gina K and using my Gemini Foil Press hot foiled the panel with the Folk Art Birds Hot Foil Plate using Gold Foil by Crafters Companion.  I then die cut this with a stitched rectangle die and using some Black Onyx card stock foiled the birds with some rose gold foil press and then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I adhered the panel to an A2 card base using tape runner, popped up the birds with foam squares to add some dimension to the card and foiled the sentiment from the Perfect Sentiments by Pink Fresh Studio, to finish I added a few clear dew drops.  Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a great day!

Sending Love

Welcome back to my blog, hoping you have had a great week so far, not too long for the weekend now! Here is a card which I started last night and finished this afternoon, it is another card using products from Gina K Designs, I just love her products and there is an array of cardstock and matching inks to choose from.

Today's card is inspired by this week's colour challenge over at #gkdfbchallenge5 using the colour scheme from the photo below:

To begin, using my die cutting machine I die cut card stock in various colours using a strip die which made the process so much easier than just trying to cut card stock to equal lengths using a paper cutter.  These strips were then adhered to a piece of white card stock which I had die cut to size using liquid glue.

I then die cut a couple of heart dies from the Master Layouts 4 Die Set by Gina K Designs and using the water droplets stencil using some blending brushes inked up the panel with Sweetcorn and Coral Reef Ink.  The sentiments was stamped in black ink and are from the "A Little Love" Stencil Bundle. I sprayed some glitter spray onto the heart to add a little bit of shimmer - who doesn't like a little bit of glitter in their lives!

Finally I adhered the panel to an A2 card base using tape runner and added a few dew drops here and there to finish off.  Hoping you like this card.

Supplies used:
  • Gina K Designs Card stock - Coral Reef, Sweet Mango, Honey Mustard, Whisper, Sea Glass, Tranquil Teal, In the Navy, Black Onyx
  • Gina K Designs Ink - Sweet Corn, Coral Reef
  • Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2 & 4 Die Sets
